Hillsdown Ranch's focus of the herd is on productivity and fertility which is proven in the amount of homegrown Dam of Merit and Dam of Distinction cows in the herd.  In 2017 Hillsdown Gelbvieh was ranked 5th for productivity over all in Canada, for all Registered Gelbvieh herds. We strive to produce cattle that will perform in extreme temperatures and rough terrain, with an emphasis on easy fleshing, growthy calves. We use top AI genetics in the industry that are on par with our program and retain replacement heifers and herd bulls to create a uniform and consistent group of calves each year.
